In his delivery, Andrew is insightful, relaxed and engaging, connecting with his audience using “a perfect balance of good humour and gravitas”. Bringing a combination of self-deprecating humour, insight and inspiration, Andrew’s enthusiasm and sector knowledge lifts every occasion.
Andrew has over twenty-five years’ experience as an award-winning editor and leader in the fire sector. He is the founder and host of the internationally renowned Excellence in Fire & Emergency Awards and the Global Search & Rescue Excellence Awards.
He was the co-founder of the International Joint Operations Command Conference and has chaired and hosted conferences and events around the world covering everything from counter-terrorism, fire safety, diversity and inclusion, firefighter safety, decontamination, water safety, search and rescue, to leadership and governance.
Andrew has been the host of the Excellence in Fire & Emergency Awards since he founded the event in 2014. The internationally renowned event takes place at the Institution of Civil Engineers next to Parliament Square, Westminster. In May 2025 Andrew hosts the inaugural Global Search & Rescue Excellence Awards at the same venue.
